Benefits of OEM Zebra ZE500 Printer Engines

Designed to support your mission-critical applications, Zebra ZE500 print engines keep your applicators running without interruptions. These print engines work with thermal transfer or direct thermal print methods, support right- or left-hand orientation, offer variable RFID power settings to support the widest range of tags possible, and much more.

By investing in one of these OEM engines for your printer, your business reaps the following benefits.

Easy Setup and Integration

The ZE500 connects using standard serial, parallel, USB, wired Ethernet, or optional wireless connections, allowing the print engines to easily integrate with existing infrastructure. The applicator I/O works the same for 5V or 24V, and conversion is as easy as switching jumpers.

Remote-able and/or Invertible Graphical Display

The large graphical display is easy to see, and it lets you conveniently control your printer with a five-button menu. Using the optional kit, you can install the display up to two meters away from the print engine and control the ZE500 remotely. This setup ensures accessibility for unusual mounting applications, and whether it's located remotely or on the printer, you can rotate the graphical display so it's in the optimal position every time.

High Quality, Customizable Printer Settings

The easy-to-use outboard cam system utilizes three different axes to precisely move the printhead to the platen roller, regardless of the media in use. Two printhead toggles optimize pressure dispensation across the printhead, improving print quality even further.

Easy-To-Service Design

When you want to service the printer, you can take out the pinch and peel rollers in just minutes without removing the ZE500 print engine. To minimize confusion and eliminate reinstallation errors, the pinch and peel rollers are interchangeable, and thanks to captured fasteners, you never have to worry about lost hardware.

When you need to access internal components, simply swing open the hinged cage system, so you can change belts, adjust resolution, or manage other basic types of maintenance. Then, by turning just three screws, you can remove the modular drive system for use as a spare module or for a rebuild on a bench-top.

Convenient Access to Support

When you have a question about your ZE500, just scan the QR code to instantly see how-to videos on everything from changing the ribbon to replacing the print head. Or, use the code to contact support for additional assistance.

If you add a Zebra OneCare service plan to your print engine, you gain access to Zebra technicians who can remotely troubleshoot problems as they occur. Their services increase printer uptime and safeguard productivity, and the subscription payment model helps you avoid unexpected repair costs.

The ZE500 works with ZebraLink software so you can easily design the applications you need or leverage the following solutions:

  • Zebra Setup Utilities

  • Zebra Designer

  • Zebra DesignerPro

  • ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise

  • ZebraNet Utilities v7.0

Reliable Performance in Harsh Environments

Designed to survive and thrive in harsh environments, the ZE500 can operate in temps from 31° to 104° F and be stored in humidity from 5% to 95%. It also features an external all-metal cabinet that prevents dust, debris, and water from reaching the printer engine.
